Boarders are provided with military training which includes parade, drill, gymanistcs, horse riding, rifle shooting, self defense etc. Along with the regular academic curriculum, the boarders are trained to be physically fit.

RMTC is offered to the day scholars. The training content includes parade, drill, horse riding, self defence, rifle shooting etc. RMTC is aimed at motivating the students to take up a career in armed forces. It also inculcates in them a sense of self-discipline.

SMTC is a vacation course that is usually conducted by the college every year during the months
of April – May. The SMTC has been designed by specifically keeping the empowerment of a girl
child in mind. Girls between in the age group 15-21 years are eligible for the course. The
objectives of SMTC are-
1. Shape the overall personality of the participant
2. Sow the seeds of confidence and courage
3. Build resilience and make them self reliant
4. Ignite their fire of creativity
5. Instill the spirit of team work and camaraderie
The contents of the course include- Horse Riding, Physical Training, Yoga, Gymnastic, Firing,
Motivational Lecture, Drill, Cultural Programme, Swimming, Entertainment / Movies

The PDC is also a vacation course with similar course content to that of the SMTC. Girl child in
the age group of 12-15 years of age are eligible for the course.

Bhonsala is one of the few colleges in the country that offers specialization in Defence and strategic studies. The college offers U.G and P.G degrees in Defence and Strategic StudiesThe Department of Defence and Strategic Studies organises seminars and conference on National Security and related themes. The department also publishes a Journal titled “Daksh”.
